Legacy Poem written by the Founders of Mark of Nations Andrew M. Foster and S. Lewis-Campbell in commemoration of Black History Month

Imagine reaching retirement

reflecting injustice, low paid salaries, lack of ownership

incest, communities that

devalues positive self-representation,

where social media depicts our culture as mutt vagrants,

gun, knives, animals that roam our neighbourhoods without sanctuary.

Preventable

Oblivious to the harm you created by doing nothing to

Unite the Black population.

Yet, you expect

younger generations to respect

the heritage you failed to leave behind.

Unless you have made a significant impact

towards the oppression of the Diaspora

You can consider your legacy

part of the wider problem.
